Selecting a Vendor

An important decision a company will make regarding its mobile development plan is choosing the right mobile vendor. Find one that will achieve success on budget and on time.

Consider these things when choosing a mobile development vendor:

Experience – Mobile development is a highly specialized field, and issues such as how long the team has been developing and what they have done in the past should be considered. Look at what types of mobile apps they have done and what the company’s background looks like.

A Focus on Mobile – Mobile has become a popular industry recently. Unfortunately, this means that companies that focus on website development claim to also do mobile app and mobile website development. The mobile environment is too fast-paced to not be fully committed.

References – Look at testimonials and check references. Make the vendor prove it if they say they can do it. Look online for previous customers’ testimonials.

Trust – A mobile development partner must have a company’s trust. Talk to references and talk to previous clients to build trust.Take the time to meet the potential mobile developer in person before making a commitment.

Cost – It will not matter how cheap a vendor’s bid was if they cannot perform. If it takes longer to get things done, a low hourly rate means nothing. Price/cost is an important factor, but results are the ultimate goal.
